It is with great pleasure and enthusiasm that we welcome Mrs. Jana Tyree, who will be joining us
as the new Principal of Hunter Elementary School. Mrs. Tyree was selected after an extensive
search and thorough selection process and appointed at the April 25th Board of Education
meeting.
Mrs. Tyree brings with her 12 years of experience as a classroom teacher, most recently in the
Gilboa-Conesville Central School District, during which she was involved in numerous
initiatives focused on fostering positive student character, enhancing teacher development, and
promoting innovative learning experiences.
Throughout the interview process, it was evident that Mrs. Tyree is deeply committed to
fostering an inclusive environment for all students – and working collaboratively with our
faculty and staff – all of which align perfectly with our school's values and goals.
Mrs. Tyree holds an M.A. in Elementary Education from Ball Street University and will
complete her MSEd in Progressive Leadership from Bank Street College of Education in May.
Her educational background and professional journey embody a collaborative spirit, a forward-
thinking mindset, and an unwavering dedication to rural education.
We look forward to scheduling time for Mrs. Tyree to visit Hunter Elementary School and meet
with our faculty, staff, and students prior to her official start date.
Please join us in warmly welcoming Mrs. Tyree to our school district. We are confident that with
her leadership and the continued dedication of our faculty, staff, and community, Hunter
Elementary is poised for remarkable achievements.
